world chat channel for online players

I'm not sure how difficult this would be to implement but I think it would be nice if we had a world chat. Like as a chat option in this thing here:

i think it was an idea mentioned on discord awhile back, but then because of a drama situation using megaphones, the idea didn't seem good anymore.
