Leveling Event & Revised EXP Feedback

So, with the recent conclusion of the leveling event in the closed beta, I thought I would make a thread to discuss the revised EXP table.

Based off of the rankings from the frontpage as of right now (Aug 12th), here's the data on what levels people reached:
  • Level 15-20: 19 Players (500 Maple Points)
  • Level 21-25: 17 Players (750 Maple Points)
  • Level 26-30: 12 Players (1,000 Maple Points)
  • Level 31-34: 13 Players (1,500 Maple Points)
  • Level 35-39: 5 Players (2,500 Maple Points)
  • Level 40+: 19 Players (5,000 Maple Points)
Congrats to tbjhu3u, Gang, and Ostre for being the first to reach lvl 40.

A total of 85 players reached lvl 15+ to receive Maple Points. This was out of 196 characters made, with 148 of those reaching at least level 2.

The EXP table is quicker than the oldest 1x rates, but it more closely resembles the rebalanced rates that came ~v71 (still far before big bang). Here are some comparisons for key levels, using data from wayback (old 1x):

From what I can tell, there's custom balancing, with faster leveling at some stages (ex: first 10+ levels of 3rd job) and slower leveling at other stages, tapering off at the highest levels but still being at least 1.25x+

Personally, I was very pleased with the EXP changes. It's easier, but still relatively challenging, as shown by not everyone hitting lvl 40 too easily. The quest buffs were welcome - they felt good enough to finish, instead of being pure time wasters.

I'm interested to see how others feel about the event and the EXP changes in general. It fits a lot of people's wishes for a faster exp rate, without being too different. One point of feedback I heard was that lvl 30-35 is a tough to get through, especially for classes without first job mastery skills, so perhaps buffing that area and nerfing another to compensate would be a good idea.

I think it was good, but like you said, it would make more sense to have a higher rate in the 30s (then in the 20s imo)

+1 this. While you are getting your 2nd job skills, classes without mastery struggle a bit from 31-35. Everyone loves 2x since you have KPQ and ant tunnel, so those do not need much of a boost.
